XIA YU obtained her PhD from the University of Southampton, the UK. She received the LASS Faculty International Bursary Scheme (FIBS) (2007-2010), and had been a repeated recipient of the HUMS PGR research awards. Dr. Yu is currently professor of language and education in School of Foreign Languages, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, PRC. Her scholarly interests are broadly in positive psychology in foreign language education, language ideologies, and English for specific purposes. Her work on language teaching, language policy, linguistic ideology, intercultural communication, teacher education and teacher development, among other topics, has appeared in a variety of journals and books. Dr. Yu welcomes research proposals in all aspects of foreign language education, especially in the above-mentioned areas of English language teaching and education.
